Huimo (Anhui Ink) is a specialty product from Huangshan City and Xuancheng City in Anhui Province, China. It has been recognized as a National Geographic Indication Product.
Huimo is known for its rich black color, long-lasting quality, and unique characteristics. When applied to paper, it exhibits a lacquer-like finish and does not fade over time. It does not cause the paper and brush to stick, and it emits a strong and pleasant fragrance. It has a smooth and creamy texture, earning it a reputation for being light to touch, clear when ground, fragrant to smell, as hard as jade, silent when ground, resembling lacquer with every brushstroke, and capable of preserving its quality for thousands of years.
In December 2015, Huimo was successfully granted the National Geographic Indication Protection Product status, further affirming its cultural and historical significance.
